Heavy weights, low reps, and plenty of protein. Keep cardio to a minimum.

Make sure you get plenty of protein and cut out the sweets and empty calories. My trainer also suggests eating more often - protein snack in middle of morning and afternoon.

Every 3 hours eat a small meal containing carbs, fat and protein.

Overall keep meals balanced - proteins, carbs and fats. Consume protein in all meals and carbs in meals earlier in the day, you can also invest in supplements such as a good protein powder and creatine. As for exercise, check out ur local gym, stay committed and try to go at least 3-5 days a week

I found this book quite useful for a beginner -The Complete Guide to Strength Training by Anita Bean, ISBN 0713670304. Also, personal trainers in the gym can make a plan for you, and update it as you improve.

My boyfriend is on the Atkins diet and drinks Protein shacks once a day. So in the morning he drinks a shack for breakfast, has a light lunch, and for dinner he has meat and a side salad. He also works out 3-4 times a week. You can get the protein mix at GNC. Oh and he also takes vitamins.
